Billiard for a good cause

On Thursday afternoon, Angre Team paid a visit to Robert Noel whose house was burnt down from a fire recently near the Vanuatu Agriculture Supplies Shop.

Jordy Willie, the President of Grey Light Billiard Club handed over an envelope of Vt50,000 cash to the family.

“We had organized a two-day Billiard Competition at the Grey Light Nakamal, and from there my team and I decided that from the money we made, we would lend a hand to your family in helping rebuild your new home,” Willie said before handing over the envelope.

“Our team hopes that with the money you will put into good use.”

With over 60 players competing in an open category one frame knock out format, the competition was a success.

Players competing came from clubs in and around Port Vila, as far as Teouma.

David Russet was the major sponsor of the competition.

Grey Light, Banana and Cue Clubs were the eventual winners of the two-day competition.

The ‘Billiard for a good cause’ initiative was agreed by the Angre Team which comprises the majority of all the registered Billiard and Snooker clubs affiliated under the Vanuatu Billiard and Snooker Federation.

The initiative is the first of many more yet to come.
