The supreme court of Vanuatu rejects an appeal of 6 Indonesian fishermen to serve life imprisonment for killing the captain of the fishing vessel Tunago No.6. in 2016.
The six crews who were guilty of killing their Chinese captain Mr. Xie Dingrong on board a registered Vanuatu fishing vessel, were sentenced to serve 18 years behind bars in 2017 and the prosecution appeal the judgment and sentencing and wants them in for life.
This week Chief justice Vincent Lunabek denied the defendants claim about not serving life imprisonment.
