Vanuatu vessel LC Urata was reported half-submerged 36 nautical miles off Emae and Lelepa this morning, abandoned by its crews.
Photos by Selina JosephShe was fortunate to have her crews rescued by MV Young Blood cruising within range to quickly respond to their distress call in the early hours of the 10th of January 2018.

It is not yet clear what causes the incident but information gathered from social media suggests a fault with the water pump used in the engine cooling to discharge sea water.

According to maritime Authority, all the passengers and crews are safe in Port Vila after a swift response from MV Young Blood.
