Filming and sharing porn in Papua is 6 years jail time

Filming and sharing porn in West Papua is against the law and you could fine billions of Rupiah and 6 years jail time.

A case reported by wartaplus.com about an incident of a viral video on the 6th October 2020 Papua police have named 5 people as suspects, in the case which involves a filmed pornography video and violence that occurred in a school at Mimika Regency.

One of the suspect is an Admin for a WhatsApp group the police believed was used to distribute the illicit materials.

It is said that the perpetrators were charged under Article 45 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (1) Law NO. 19/2016 concerning ITE (Anyone who knowingly and without right distributes and / or transmits and / or makes accessible electronic information and / or electronic documents that have contents that violate Decency) will be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of 6 years and / or a maximum fine. Rp. 1,000,000,000, which is about 10 million vatu. 

The suspects are summoned and detained at the Papua Police Detention Center.
