The Vanuatu beach volleyball star golden girls pairing of Miller Pata and Linline Matautu are currently in preseason training with Coach Andrew Ngeh as they prepare for the upcoming international seasons. The girls will start off their season by playing in a number of events held around Asia in Thailand, China and Vietnam during April.
The month of April has been confirmed as the month for the event but the actual day had not yet been confirmed.
Coach Ngeh believes that the girls will do well in their upcoming tournaments. They have been training and working hard in the sand and gym ready for their upcoming events in April .Neither Miller or Lin have injuries but they have brought a very positive attitude to all their seasons.
“I am sure if they play to the best of their abilities and remain calm, they will succeed in the upcoming tournament next month ’’ said Ngeh.
Vanuatu’s women recently gained entry into the beach volleyball World Champions to be held in the Netherlands this coming June and July for another event but the day will be confirmed early May. Miller and Lin were ranked 3rd in Asia with the top 4 teams automatically qualifying for the champions.
The team did very well last year with the following key results: , 1st in Asian Volleyball Confederations CAVC) in Thailand Khanom , AVC Hong kong open , Federations International de Volley ball FIVB Challenger , 2nd AVC Thailand Samila open, Oceania Champions Manly ,and came in 5th AVC Championship Jinjiang,China.
The players Miller pata and Linline Matautu are on the great preparations for their upcoming event by coach Andrew Ngeh .
“We want to put our country, Vanuatu’s name on top so in this upcoming event we will try and do more training to maintain our position, ’’ said the two girls .
