NI-VAnh to represent Philippines in World ShinKyokushin

Max Samuel from Vanuatu who is residing in the Phillipines has taken part in the 7th Shinkyokushin Japan-Phil Karate tournament. The full contact tournament is an annual event that Philippines and Japan host.

Shinkyokushin kaikan is a style of stand-up, full contact karate, founded in 1964 by Masutatsu Oyama who was born under the name Choi Yong. Shinkyokushinkai is Japanese for “the society of the ultimate truth”

Max Samuel has competed at heavyweight category 90kg-110 being that he weighs 97kg. He has won all his fights and has now qualified himself to represent Philippines in the upcoming World ShinKyokushin Championship this November in Japan.

The tournament was also staged as a selection of metro Manila and Max Samuel for his part in competing is also eligible for selection of the all Asian tournament next year 2016 in Singapore.
