OPPOSITION DEMANDS URGENT RELEASE OF COMMISSION OF INQUIRY REPORT ON VNPF

The Office of the Opposition strongly condemns the Government of Prime Minister Salwai’s indifference and ignorance to the Commission of Inquiry Report on the Vanuatu National Provident Fund (VNPF) savings and investments.

In a Press Release, The Office of the Opposition says “it is a mystery as to why the COI Report was never released and made available to the public.”

The Opposition Office is “appalled and strongly demands the Government of Prime Minister Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas to immediately release the COI Report.”

The Opposition says “more than that previous calls to have the COI report released have fallen to deaf ears.”

This uncalled for attitude of ignorance and avoidance of public interest must cease continued the Opposition Office.

The Opposition Office says “VNPF savings and investments are everybody’s interest and concern.”

The Office would like to remind the government that “COI Reports Commission of Inquiry endeavors are State Funded Reports and why this particular Report was never released is an infringement to the inherent rights of all paying VNPF individuals.”

The Government indifferent to the release could have dire consequences as past incidents have proven to be.

The Opposition Office vigorously urges the Government to come to its senses and release the COL report to the Public as this is an infringement to the inherit rights of the Public to be furnished with vital information regarding their entitlements and savings within the VNPF.
