As the Cyclone season is fast approaching in Vanuatu, Oxfam in Vanuatu (OiV) is preparing its staff members and volunteers through a two day Contingency Planning Workshop.
OiV’s has organized the two day Contingency Planning Workshop to ensure it can review it’s emergency response and disaster recovery plans.
The two-day contingency planning and emergency management workshop, was conducted by Kata Duaibe, the Regional Humanitarian & Security Coordinator for Oxfam in the Pacific.
Oxfam in Vanuatu review’s and update’s its Contingency Plan during the two days and is preparing to utilize, to anticipate, preempt, and solve problems that typically arise during a humanitarian response.
This two-day contingency program also looks to enhance staff and volunteers’ ability to develop effective humanitarian emergency plans.
The workshop follows the international Core Humanitarian Standards, the SPHERE Standards and the Red Cross Humanitarian Standards which guide the works of humanitarian organisations around the globe.
