The Pacific Community in Noumea hosted Prime Minister of Vanuatu Charlot Salwai to meet French President in Noumea last week.
In a meeting with other Pacific leaders was a vital high level dialogue on Climate Change with the French Foreign Minister at SPC headquarters.
The Prime Minister Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas highlighted huge efforts Vanuatu is making to combat climate change and eliminate plastic waste.

The French president Emmanuel Macron also visited the island of Ouvea on the 30th anniversary of the bloody end of the 1988 hostage crisis.

The Ouvea hostage crisis, which also claimed the life of six French gendarmes, has remained a sensitive issue.
