The Government of Indonesia condemned the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) summit held in Port Vila on the 27 November 2017.
In a statement published by Indonesian media online, Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu said the people involved in the meeting should be arrested.
Ryamizard said after meeting with his counterpart Minister for Politics, Law and Security Mr. Wiranto on Tuesday.
“I regretted involving diplomats from the Melanesian countries who participated and supported the West Papua liberation movement”, he said.
Vanuatu is one of the Melanesian countries that supports West Papuan independence and help established the United Liberation Movement for West Papua in Vanuatu in 2014.
Last week Vanuatu Government with approval from the council of Ministers, handed over a plot of land and the keys to a building near Tebakor area.
