Jeremy Goodman, Director of Supply Chain, Carnival Australia is part of a delegation visiting a selection of Vanuatu exporters to gain insight into how Vanuatu products are produced.
This opportunity has been facilitated by Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I) Australia with the Vanuatu Trade Commissioner to Australia, Donald Pelam.
Carnival Australia have stringent procurement and quality control procedures for food and beverages served on their P&O cruise ships. On this exploratory mission PT&I Australia will take Carnival Australia delegates to visit four sites including factories and processing plants to view the entire production process from sourcing raw materials to final product.
The PT&I Australia led delegation will visit sites in Port Villa and Santo including Vanuatu Brewing Limited, Vanuatu Abattoirs (Pacific) Limited, Azure Pure Water Limited and VENUI Vanilla Co. Ltd.
“This is a great opportunity for Vanuatu exporters, through this process they will gain knowledge on what international buyers require in the manufacturing of goods to ensure they meet standards for purchase,” said Mona Mato Manager Export Service, PT&I Australia
This PT&I Australia facilitated mission builds upon the relationship between P&O Cruises and Vanuatu. In December 2016 Vanuatu became the first Pacific country to sell its locally made products on-board P&O Cruises ships for passengers to buy.
