The MSG Organization Focuses on Economic Recovery After Covid-19

Pacific States that are members of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) have held a series of summits on April 28, 2021.

The series began with a Senior Official Meeting (SOM) attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of permanent member countries, including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, with the main agenda of budget discussions.

Indonesia as an Associate Member also participates in contributing and providing solutions in the forum.

This is because MSG member countries have experienced a slowdown in economic growth, so it is necessary to determine program priorities that are closely related to development and welfare amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
