Last staged in 2013 where Valerie Martinez was crowned Miss Vanuatu by Vanuatu Tourism, the race is on again in 2016.
Daily post has started profiling the candidates in their paper and the winner will be announced by end of November 2016.

Despite many criticisms in 2005, Miss Glenda Laban won the title and the event went quiet, and after 8 years the Vanuatu Tourism launched Miss Republic of Vanuatu in 2013 and this seems to have some impact in tourism and the communities, hence the 2016 race is back.
