Tribal Chief Says the Presence of Indonesian Army Gives Residents a Sense of Security in Papua

Jayapura, Beritasatu.com – Head of the Dani Tribe of Puncak Jembatan Murib Regency admitted that the presence of TNI/Polri security personnel in Papua is believed to have provided a sense of security for all residents in the Land of Cenderawasih because the force is always on duty to protect and provide security for all communities.

The head of the Dani tribe, Puncak Ilaga Bridge Murib, in a statement on March 16, asked the people to stick to the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

“I am Jembatan Murib as the head of the Dani Tribe of Puncak Ilaga Regency, asking the public to hold fast to the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Jembatan Murib.

The head of the Jembatan Murib Tribe revealed that the government is God’s representative on this earth so that people must obey the government.

“In addition, the government has also given special attention to us Papuan people, starting from development to the many Papuan children who have become government officials, both in Papua itself and outside Papua,” he explained.

On that occasion, Jembatan Murib also expressed his gratitude to the security forces, namely the TNI-Polri, who have given a sense of security to the people in Puncak Regency so that people’s daily activities can run safely and peacefully.

Separately, the Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) asked the TNI-Polri to increase security in Papua. This is because the armed criminal group (KKB) continues to create fear in the community.

“I ask the government and regional governments together with the TNI/Polri to strengthen defense and security in areas prone to KKB disturbances, especially in vital areas by narrowing the KKB’s space for movement, and cutting off communication and supply lines for KKB needs, considering that throughout 2021 criminal acts by the KKB is a lot,” said Bamsoet in his statement.

Meanwhile, the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri emphasized that the existence of the TNI-Polri is a symbol of the state’s presence in maintaining security and peace in Papua.

Therefore, the Kapolda Inspector General Fakhiri ensured that his staff will take firm action against the KKB which often poses threats and terror in the community.

“The TNI and Polri are here to ensure that the state is present in Intan Jaya to enforce the law against anyone who violates the law,” said Inspector General Fakhiri.
