Two Health Workers Die After KKB Papua Burn Down Health Center in the Mountains of West Papua

Ministry of Health received a report that two health workers fell into a ravine while saving themselves from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) that terrorized Kiwirok, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua on Wednesday (15/9) afternoon.

The Ministry of Health expressed deep condolences for the fall of the two health workers and appreciates their dedication in developing and improving health in remote areas of West Papua.

“We hope that the community can appreciate the sacrifices they have made to provide health services, which of course are far away and must be separated from their families,” said Director of Prevention and Control of Direct Infectious Diseases at the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi to merdeka.com.

Nadia hopes that in the future the local government of the Bintang Mountains will ensure the safety and security of health workers. This can be in the form of escorting health workers by security forces.
