Vanuatu Police Force saving Ambae’s Live Stock and Domestic Animals

The Vanuatu Police Force and its paramilitary wing, the Vanuatu Mobile Force, stationed on Ambae are trying to keep the place in order as 11,000 have evacuated the Island declared in a state of emergency.

John Metojoe a Police officer stationed in Saratamata on the eastern part of the island is updating everyone on social media on some of the daily operation they are carrying out and one being, to minimize the risks of perishing all the live stock and domestic animals.

Livestock can be animals and birds that are kept on a farm, such as cows, sheep, or chickens and domestic animal are those that are not wild and usually kept as a pet or to produce food.

As seen in the pictures, the force members are moving from village to village feeding the dogs, pigs, chickens & all the domestic herds that were released by their owners before evacuating the place.
