Fundraiser to help Vanuatu resident parents who lost their home to Hurricane Harvey in America

Vanuatu resident Wade Jones is raising funds to support his parents back home in America after Hurricane Harvey devastated Southeast Texas.Jones parents’ home in Lumberton, shared with Wades 92 year old grandmother was completely flooded. Their home, vehicles, and possessions were all destroyed by the flood waters.

Mr. Jones parents both work and run their businesses from home.

Mr. Jones parents parents’ love and generosity despite loosing so much is inspiring. It is heartbreaking though because my parents have always been generous givers with church, family, and charity. They had finally reached the point in life where the kids were out of the house, college was paid for, and they could afford things for themself.

Mr. Jones stated in the GoFunMe websites that his parents home was built on a 3-foot slab and not in the floodplane, and his parents did not have flood insurance unfortunately.

Mr Jones has created a page to raise money and support his parents back home.

“Other family members and friends wanted to help so I am setting up this page. Even if you cant send money, please just send them an email or message on FB to let them know that you are thinking of them. The emotional support from family and friends means even more than money.”

Mr Jones says ‘Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the others that were hurt by the flooding. I know my family does not suffer alone.’
